Autodsys Announces AcceliCAD Competitive Upgrade

Portland, Oregon — Autodsys, Inc. (http://www.autodsys.com/) today announced the availability of a competitive upgrade to the latest version of AcceliCAD from any version of many other competitive CAD products.

“We recognize that people generally use several pieces of software to accomplish their work” said Ronald Prepchuk, President of Autodsys. “AcceliCAD fits the need for a production oriented 2D and 3D CAD system with industry-standard compatibility.” AcceliCAD is compatible with AutoCAD DWG file formats version 2.5-2009 as well as DXF, SAT, and SVG files. AcceliCAD uses the same command set as AutoCAD so users familiar with that software will be able to work without any additional training. New users can also take classes at most community colleges.

Qualifying CAD products include any version of AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, Autosketch, Alibre Design, ArchiCAD, Arris CAD, Ashlar-Vellum, CADKEY, Chief Architect, DataCAD, DesignCAD, FelixCAD, IntelliCAD, IronCAD, KEYCREATOR, MicroStation, PowerCAD, Pro/Engineer, RhinoCAD, SketchUP Pro, SmartSketch, SolidWorks, TurboCAD, TrueSpace, and VectorWorks. Users of any of these packages can purchase AcceliCAD for $300.

AcceliCAD includes all of these advanced features:

• Full Compatibility with AutoCAD 2008 DWG file formats
• An AutoCAD-compatible command set
• Batch plotting interface allows the plotting of multiple drawings and layouts in one step. Different paper sizes, scales, and pen settings can be applied to each plot. Each batch plot set can be saved to a file for reuse the next time a set of printouts is required.
• Quick dimensioning feature will dimension an entire part or plan in one easy step. Methods supported include continuous, baseline, staggered, ordinate, radius, and datum point.
• Dimension-driven editing, allowing a user to modify a dimension and see the object change to match the new dimension.
• Entity information window that displays relevant information about an object when the user places the cursor over it. This feature also works with ArchT objects to display the object type, style, and size.
• Polar angle tracking
• Floating prompt menus that put command options right at the cursor location
• Heads-up keyboard entry that allows angles, distances and text to be entered without looking at the keyboard.
• System variable editor puts all of the drawing and system settings in one place with tooltips and help strings to make it easier to understand each setting. Configurations can be imported and exported to disk so that they can be transferred between drawings or different computers to improve compliance with office standards
